New Year
(Preview)
Another year has almost passed into eternity. A few more days, and we shall enter a new year. My brethren and sisters, employ wisely the remaining hours of the old year. If you have in any wise neglected your duty, repent before God, and return to the path from which you have wandered. Remember how brief...

The balances or scales
(Preview)
Christ calls upon every one to consider. Make an honest reck- oning. Put into one scale Jesus, which means eternal treasure, life, truth, heaven, and the joy of Christ in souls redeemed; put into the other every attraction the world can offer. Into one scale put the loss of your own soul, and the souls o...

zafer, who was a Mr. Owen who wrote about Revelation?
(Preview)
In going thru some old posts today, I came across one made 4 years ago by zafer in a thread on the problems of Uriah Smith. It said: An interesting pattern that I noticed in the way EGW's writings were messed up is the fact that they used to solve controversies in the church by inserting their own ideas in...

p. 681 T. vol 5 The volumes of Spirit of Prophecy, and also the Testimonies, should be introduced into every Sabbathkeeping family, and the brethren should know their value and be urged to read them. It was not the wisest plan to place these books at a low figure and have only one set in a church.

When was plan of salvation laid?
(Preview)
I think nearly all of us Seventh-day Adventists have been taught, and believe, that the plan of salvation was laid before this world was ever created. The phrase "from the foundation of the world" in referring to the Lamb that was slain in Revelation 13:8 gives credence to that belief, if the word "fo...
