Unless God shall work through the two olive trees, His witnesses, causing them to empty from themselves the golden oil through the golden tubes into the golden bowls, His churches, and hence to the burning lamps, representing His churches, no one is safe for one moment from the machinations of Satan. He will, if possible, deprave human nature and assimilate it to his own corrupt principles. But this golden oil will revive the Spirit of God in the hearts of man. A Christlike principle will be introduced like leaven. Through the inspiration of the Spirit of God, satanic agencies will be overcome. {Ms57-1896}

Rev 11:3  And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Rev 11:10  And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

Thanks for the quote and Bible verses.

I understand that Ellen White says in The Great Controversy that the two witnesses are the OT and the NT.

These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks G3087 standing before the God of the earth. (Rev 11:4)

For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? (Rom. 11:24)

The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticksG3087 The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks G3087 which thou sawest are the seven churches. (Rev 1:20)

Probably Enoch and Elijah. They never died. OT and NT never died either, so cannot be the final fulfillment.

The LORD called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken. (Jer. 11:16)

His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon. (Hos. 14:6)

Can someone help? Who are the prophets talking about here?

 These verses are a reference to Israel.

 One way of showing this is Paul's statement in Romans 11:17.

 Another way is via SOP quotes like the ones below.

But Israel as a nation had divorced herself from God. The natural branches of the olive tree were broken off. Looking for the last time upon the interior of the temple, Jesus said with mournful pathos, "Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see Me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord." Hitherto He had called the temple His Father's house; but now, as the Son of God should pass out from those walls, God's presence would be withdrawn forever from the temple built to His glory. Henceforth its ceremonies would be meaningless, its services a mockery.  {DA 620.4}

During the life of Christ on earth he had sought to lead the Jews out of their exclusiveness. The conversion of the centurion, and that of the Syrophenician woman, were instances of his direct work outside of the acknowledged people of Israel. The time had now come for active and continued work among the Gentiles, of whom whole communities received the gospel gladly, and glorified God for the light of an intelligent faith. The unbelief and malice of the Jews did not turn aside the purpose of God; for a new Israel was being grafted into the old olive-tree. The synagogues were closed against the apostles; but private houses were thrown open for their use, and public buildings of the Gentiles were also used in which to preach the Word of God.  {3SP 356.3}
