For starters, the image of the beast has already been created. It's just a matter of history and proper Biblical exegesis if those disciplines are acceptable to you.
I watched the video mentioned above, and there seems to be a strong emphasis on conspiracy theories.
Such an emphasis leads to an interesting question -- is Revelation 13 inflicted upon an unwilling public, or do they in fact demand a Sunday law? Do the bad guys do it to us, or do we do it to ourselves?
The SOP says repeatedly that these laws are based on the demand of the public, and I have included one such quote below.
This idea might sync up with a political trend in our world toward populism, with multiple events in 2016 pointing in this direction (Brexit vote n June, US election in November, Italian referendum in December).
Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet's words: "The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 12:17. {GC 592.3}
I liked their 3 points at the very beginning but then, as you say, it gets too deep behind the scenes for me...
1. The spirit of the exaltation of self and a wishful independence from God. 2. The presumptuous belief that we can sin with impunity. 3. The enticement to inherit the world by compromising with evil.
While Br. Veith raises many good points, he is factually wrong in several areas, he is going directly contrary to the inspired words in several areas, and is deep into conspiracy nonsense.
The most troubling things are:
1. He believes that *puppet masters* are pulling the strings, so no matter who you vote for, it:s all the same. This is directly contrary to inspired words.
2. He sets up Catholic JFK as some great example for us, when in fact, JFK was probably the most effective agent of Satan ever to eliminate the distrust between Protestants and Catholics in the world.
3. He never mentions the most important thing in this election - are we going to stand up for the 6th commandment, and do what God has told us to uplift the morals of society by helping save lives of developing humans? All this talk about the 4 commandment is rot if there is no one alive to be born!
4. The haughty words and pride displayed at having *secret knowledge* (conspiracy theories), has made him overlook the obvious, as Vigilantius has already shown - the Sunday Laws will NOT come from the top. They will be grass roots type of things.
I:ve made a video reviewing his *Trump Card* talk, and you can see it here:
