I've been warning of this for several years, that the Roman Catholic Church has obviously taken the moral high ground on the abortion debate. When crunch time comes, people will turn to the perceived moral leader for direction.
Well, today I read an article regarding the recent Supreme Court ruling that basically makes homosexual marriage the law of the United States. This article discussed Christian churches' responses to the ruling.
The U.S. bishops are facing an even greater challenge within, even as they move forward as the leading religious voice advocating for legal protections for those who object to gay marriage. In the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arlington, Va., Bishop Paul Loverde held a Mass and organized a lecture for the U.S. bishops' annual religious freedom commemoration, called "Religious Liberty For How Long? How to Prepare Spiritually for the Coming Persecution."
The end times are certainly shaping up to be interesting. What is extremely sad tho, is that God's remnant church - the Seventh-day Adventist church, is definitely not on anyone's list as the moral leader. Here we are fighting over women's ordination, all because we refuse to follow God's words in the Bible.
The Court has declared it's self superior to the American Constitution, superior to the legislative process - and are now making laws from the bench instead of serving the interests of the law making processes and law making bodies - these are their civil infractions.
They are an image or at least part of the image to the Beast that is the profane mix of State & Religion / Church + Satanic ( compel-ers of the conscience - in defiance of God's ownership and sole right to rule the conscience and enforce it by law.)
They think to change another of God's Laws - The 7th Commandment that rules marriage, soon they will think to over rule the Sabbath Commandment - after now setting themselves up to tell God and everyone else how to obey God's Own Commandments, and in that process defies and teaches breaking them.
I saw that the two-horned beast had a dragon's mouth, and that his power was in his head, and that the decree would go out of his mouth. Then I saw the Mother of Harlots; that the mother was not the daughters, but separate and distinct from them. She has had her day, and it is past, and her daughters, the Protestant sects, were the next to come on the stage and act out the same mind that the mother had when she persecuted the saints. I saw that as the mother has been declining in power, the daughters had been growing, and soon they will exercise the power once exercised by the mother. {SpM 1.4}
Thank you for the good comments and quotes. We know at the end that there will be a 3-fold union between Catholicism, Protestantism, and Spiritualism. It looks like they have been marshaling their forces, and are just about ready to unleash their power.
