Man has never it seems come to realize his vulnerability to be duped of Satan and in many ways. This is amazing as we know Satan duped ONE THIRD of the angels of heaven and even man before he fell was not the equal in wisdom and understanding of the higher order which are the angels.
So today after almost 6,000 yrs. of degeneration of becoming morally weaker man for sure needs power from above to not only to discern truth from error but power to be overcomers. Jesus tells us,
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: "FOR WITHOUT ME YE CAN DO NOTHING.
This is known as "Christ in you!" And Paul laid it out well, "The hope of Glory."
Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; "WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY: Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Col 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily .
Now this takes more than most will give down here in the last end and that is full and total giving of ourselves into His hands and NOTHING, NOT A WHIT WITHELD.
This is a real study on each of our parts to actually let loose and fully surrender ALL. Unless we do Christ cannot come in and dwell as He must be the one and only, THE SOLE, SOUL master in the soul temple. Self must be completely cast out and not resurrected, as Paul has stated, must be killed all day long,
Ro 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Then we have need to read Ro 6: all of it, here is first two verses,
Ro 6:1 ¶ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Ro 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
We need to be singing the song continually, "I surrender ALL!"Along with that one, "Trust and Obey."
1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
After reading what Fred Bischoff has compiled from SDA history - we made ourselves weaker still .
especially read - Connections of the Midnight Cry of 1844 with the Loud Cry, and that with the Latter Rain it compares 1858 & 1882 & 1888 & 1911 & 1896 - EGW delineations of SDA history where we corporately balked, tap danced, turned the other way, and now wonder why we are still here on Earth, and not in Heaven.
