Let Us Examine 1 Cor 15:24-28

I read Ed Suttons post of examining 1st Corinthians 13:8 - 10 and that is a very good post.  This one has come to mind and I will post the verses and let each who wants to, comment about the context.  It is plain and easy understood but has profound meanings.

1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
1Co 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
1Co 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

May all be Blessed of reading His Wonerful Word.

Gibs.

I have wondered about this and started looking at it's overall picture.

To rescue and redeem whosoever will, Christ Jesus eternally took humanity into Himself and gave up the being able to physically be everywhere at once , ( to do so would renounce His humanity ) .

Consider this, being in Heaven, filled with millions and billions of redeemed at last.   Unable to persue relationships with any of them, tied up in an endless list to things keeping the universe maintained doing & being one thing at a time.

Isaiah 62:5  ................... and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.    How could an endlessly busy elsewhere Christ rejoice one on one with His redeemed ?

 Isaiah 53:11  He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

How could Father God and the Holy Ghost be happy when Jesus would be never able to spend time with the ones He rescued, They would feel His dissapointment, sorrow, pain, wouldn't They ?

God's wise, loving, simple elegant solution.  Death is gone, sorrow & sin is gone, eternity is resumed.  Take over running the universe and Kingdom's duties that require omnipresence and let Jesus mingle among the redeemed and do what He does best.

After all .................  1 Corinthians 9:9  For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
1 Timothy 5:18  For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

Isaiah 63:3  I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.

After all -   Jesus undertook war in Father God's behalf and for our sakes, and His Own Name's sake, and to defend the universe.

What reward would it be to be the Bridegroom with empty arms after the wedding ?

Yes His wonderful Word to us, if we don't just surface read and hear the voice of His Spirit within us so much more comes to light.

Yes Jesus tread the winepress alone with all it's liabiities, which some do not believe there was.  A great risk was made and we all need to realize it.

He bought us with His Blood and we are His and we will each and all be His subjects in His Kingdom of Heaven and this earth once again made anew will be our etermal home and maybe better than before.  On the read of 1 Cor 15:24-28 verses 25 and 28 especially stand out to me, but the whole of them is profound.

Another profound verse is,

Ac 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

He blead and died for us that we might live the real life in His Kingdom!

Jesus said to DRINK of ME and EAT of ME....  I wonder if people really understand what that means?

If they buy an EGW CD Rom Disk and paste in key phrases from Scripture in the EGW CD Rom - they can learn.

 ( means eat drink ) = 63 hits <not all apply to the search >

"The Word of God contains our life insurance policy. To eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of God means to study the Word and to carry that Word into the life in obedience to all its precepts. Those who thus partake of the Son of God become partakers of the divine nature, one with Christ. They breathe a holy atmosphere, in which only the soul can truly live. They carry in their lives an assurance of the holy principles received from the Wordtheir lives are worked by the power of the Holy Spirit, and they have an earnest of the immortality that will be theirs through the death and resurrection of Christ. Should the earthly body decay, the principles of their faith sustain them, for they are partakers of the divine nature. Because Christ was raised from the dead, they grasp the pledge of their resurrection, and eternal life is their reward. {Hvn 54.2}
This truth is an eternal truth, because Christ Himself taught it. He has engaged to raise the righteous dead, for He gave His life for the life of the world. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me (John 6:57). I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger (verse 35).Letter 82, 1907 quoted in UL 78. {Hvn 55.1}

************************************************

   "I am the bread of life," the Author, Nourisher, and Supporter of eternal, spiritual life. . . . Christ represents Himself under the similitude of heavenly bread. To eat His flesh and to drink His blood means to receive Him as a heaven-sent teacher. Belief in Him is essential to spiritual life. Those who feast on the Word never hunger, never thirst, never desire any higher or more exalted good.  {LHU 105.2}

     Christ exclaimed the meaning of His words so clearly that none need stumble over them. His statement regarding eating the flesh and drinking the blood of the Son of God is to be taken in a spiritual sense. We eat Christ's flesh and drink His blood when by faith we lay hold upon Him as our Saviour.  {LHU 105.3}

     Christ used the figure of eating and drinking to represent that nearness to Him which all must have who are at last partakers with Him in His glory. The temporal food we eat is assimilated, giving strength and solidity to the body. In a similar manner, as we believe and receive the words of the Lord Jesus, they become a part of our spiritual life, bringing light and peace, hope and joy, and strengthening the soul as physical food strengthens the body.  {LHU 105.4}

     It is not enough for us to know and respect the words of the Scriptures. We must enter into the understanding of them, studying them earnestly. . . . Christians will reveal the degree to which they do this by the healthiness of their spiritual character. We must know the practical application of the Word to our own individual character-building. We are to be holy temples, in which God can live and walk and work. Never must we strive to lift ourselves above the servants whom God has chosen to do His work and to honor His holy name. "All ye are brethren." Let us apply this Word to our individual selves, comparing scripture with scripture.  {LHU 105.5}

*********************************************

 Let those who talk of principle as if they would not on any account depart from it be sure that they understand the principles laid down in the Word of God for our guidance. There are some who follow false principles. Their idea of principle is misleading. Following right principle means the faithful doing of the first four and the last six commandments. In obedience to these divine commands, we eat the flesh and drink the blood of Christ, appropriating all that is embraced in the atonement made on Calvary. Christ will stand by the side of all who receive Him as their Saviour. To them He will give power to become the sons of God. The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14). {OFC 270.2}

*************************************

   Eternal life is for all who eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of God--living by every word that proceeds out of His mouth. Those who do this will gain a clear understanding of what it means to be one with Christ.  {UL 73.4}

Eating the flesh and drinking the blood of Christ looks to be closely related to reading/studying/doing his WORDS.  Somehow his words are very, very powerful, and we have but a faint idea of how powerful.
