Sodium seems to be the enemy. We get plenty of it naturally and do not need to add any to the diet. More important is potassium. It takes some time for the palate to adjust to no added sodium.
When tumors were shrinking and victory over cancer was being won, if patients went back to their added salt eating, the tumors began to grow again.
Oh, what I found out about fat! I've known for a long time that Mom would eat good fat and it would clog up her arteries and create plaque in her vessels. Dad could eat good and bad fat and never clog up the arteries and vessels. I did not know why. Now, I do.
The cancer protocol is low fat at first and the reason why is because they say that people that are sick with cancer and weak immune systems do not digest fats well at all. They say that the liver is so clogged up that it does not put forth what the body needs to fully digest the fats. Then, poorly digested fats get into the system and they are put in artery walls. Well digested fats, get into the cells and are used properly. OY...what a long time I waited to find out that answer.
Limit fats and when you do have some few fats make sure you take digestive enzymes to aid in the proper digestion. Lipase is the enzyme that digests the fats properly.
As a person returns to wellness, they will produce more and more of the proper enzymes and can add good fats gradually back into the diet. It may take however 1 1/2 to 2 years to be back to full heatlh.
I was a bit surprised that no one made a comment on the fat issue... there is much confusion about this in the media and I'm afraid that some have taken bad advice.
Posting now the next point:
point 3)Food:Eat only organic foods so that you do not add more toxins to a body that is already toxic.Plant based only in their natural form when the patient is very sick.(For some cases, dairy was added after many weeks but no fat was allowed.Yogurt with fresh probiotics was encouraged for some.)Wash the food but do not peel it.Cook it in its own jacket.Lots of veggies and fruits in their natural form. Those fruits and veggies high in potassium are best.Oatmeal is easily digested, eat it often.Potatoes are good food. Bananas are highly recommended and fresh fruit often is encouraged when hungry.Use garlic and onions to help make veggies palatable in soups. No canned food.No refined foods.Rye bread, no salt added is preferred and never make bread the main part of the meal.(personally, I stay totally plant based in this day and age when you do not know what you are getting anymore)
God Bless and hope to stimulate some discussion here. The old saying still works here......WE are what we eat!!
What does the current practice of picking fruit and veggies green and then shipping them across the country or world to your supermarket do to the nutritional content?
I know some people who advocate eating only locally-grown, and no refrigerated stuff, but that seems a little too drastic to me.
One must be sure that it is certified organic which means that they have to be inspected and tested in order to keep certification.
There are some local farmer's markets that just put up the sign and charge high prices and are not certified. They are lying and a few simple questions will usually reveal this...
The whole point of organic is to keep the toxic load of chemicals down so that the body and mainly the liver continue to function properly.
