The Two witnesses are the LORD'S servants who appear at the time of the End of Days.

They are to rebuke the churches for not following Scripture in all It's Truth. And to rebuke and warn all those who deny the LORD YESHUA HA-MASHIACH (Blessed be HE), as the HOLY Son of ALMIGHTY GOD our HEAVENLY FATHER (Blessed be HE). We are already here... though we are not on the scene of the world stage, yet! When the time arrives... you will all see us.

 The bible is to be looked at as a whole..  The Holy Bible...  

It was the teachings of u. smith that brought that theology into the midst.  check out the first edition of daniel 7 revelation.  It's right there word for word.

Whenever God has done something BIG, He has always had a prophet with His people.  If Jesus would have come from 1888-1892 then EGW would have been that 'type' of Elijah. But since He did not come because of the decisions of the laodicean people, EGW is a type of Moses that went to the grave.

I do believe that God will raise up another type or types of Elijah that will usher in the 2nd coming, making straight the paths and preaching repentance.  And, if this is truly the 2nd coming and no more delay then these will be the anti types.

God will not leave us alone. 

The "two witnesses" mainly have reference to Moses & Elijah, who both "witness" to the last generation of believers.

Moses represents those who die in the Lord but will be ready for the 2nd Coming. Elijah represents those who will be alive at the coming of the Lord and will be ready for translation at the 2nd Coming.

Moses was leading His people to Canaan land (Heaven).

Elijah was calling revival & reformation and was caught up in a fiery chariot up to heaven.

They were regarded as Israel's greatest prophets.

By no means is this literal. Revelation is a symbolic prophetic book.

Moses & Elijah are types of the last saved of the ages.

Moses represents the law. Elijah represents the prophets.

We will all be judged by the "Law & The Prophets"---the testimony of God's Word.

John sees an end time people who "keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus (spirit of prophecy). Rev. 12:17 [Law & Prophets]
