(N). Psalm 119:1

Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.

We should realize more clearly the value of the promises God has made to us, and appreciate more deeply the honor He has given us.  God can bestow no higher honor upon mortals than to adopt them into His family, giving them the privilege of calling Him Father.  There is no degradation in becoming children of God.  "My people shall know My name," the Lord declares; "therefore they shall know in that day that I am He that doth speak: behold, it is I."  The Lord God omnipotent reigneth.  "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!  Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion."  {FE 481.2}

Proverbs 29:25

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed
into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our
profession.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the
feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we
are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we
may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:14-16

Yes!!

(N) Luke 12:22-23

And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psalm 1:1-3

If you go to God with a humble, believing heart to seek for guidance in your perplexity, then it is your privilege to rest your case with Him.  Heaven and earth may pass before the promise would fail.  Then take God at His word.  You did believe His promises when you were only three years old.  Have the simplicity of a child now, and come to Jesus in clinging faith.  Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and your confidence will never be betrayed, never be turned against you.  Look at Jacob pleading with God on the plains of Penuel.  His prayer was heard and answered, and he obtained a mighty victory.  {TDG 184.5}

(N). Psalm 118:15

The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Revelation 3:20-21

Isaiah 25:8

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

He alone who proclaimed over the rent sepulcher of Joseph, "I am the resurrection and the life," who is able when the last trump shall sound, to raise His saints from the grave and clothe them with immortality, giving them everlasting victory over death and the grave, is able now to keep the souls of all committed to His trust against that day, and to deliver them in their perplexities.  He has invited them to come to Him, and He has promised to help them, whatever their extremity, and to give them peace and rest as they wear His yoke and learn of Him lessons of meekness and lowliness.  He leaves not His heritage to the judgment of any man.  {21MR 273.1}

We must cherish and cultivate the faith of which prophets and apostles have testified -- the faith that lays hold on the promises of God and waits for deliverance in His appointed time and way.  The sure word of prophecy will meet its final fulfillment in the glorious advent of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as King of kings and Lord of lords.  The time of waiting may seem long, the soul may be oppressed by discouraging circumstances, many in whom confidence has been placed may fall by the way; but with the prophet who endeavored to encourage Judah in a time of unparalleled apostasy, let us confidently declare, "The Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him."  {Mar 66.4}

All over the field of revelation are scattered grains of gold -- the sayings of the wisdom of God.  If you are wise, you will gather up these precious grains of truth.  Make the promises of God your own. T hen when test and trial come, these promises will be to you glad springs of heavenly comfort.  {ML 28.3}

For the disheartened there is a sure remedy -- faith, prayer, work.  Faith and activity will impart assurance and satisfaction that will increase day by day.  Are you tempted to give way to feelings of anxious foreboding or utter despondency?  In the darkest days, when appearances seem most forbidding, fear not.  Have faith in God.  He knows your need.  He has all power.  His infinite love and compassion never weary.  Fear not that He will fail of fulfilling His promise.  He is eternal truth.  Never will He change the covenant He has made with those who love Him.  And He will bestow upon His faithful servants the measure of efficiency that their need demands.  The apostle Paul has testified: "He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness ... Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."  2 Corinthians 12:9, 10.  {PK 164.3}

Let us be hopeful and courageous.  Despondency in God's service is sinful and unreasonable.  He knows our every necessity.  He has all power.  He can bestow upon His servants the measure of efficiency that their need demands.  His infinite love and compassion never weary.  With the majesty of omnipotence He unites the gentleness and care of a tender shepherd.  We need have no fear that He will not fulfill His promises.  He is eternal truth.  Never will He change the covenant that He has made with those that love Him.  His promises to His church stand fast forever.  He will make her an eternal excellence, a joy of many generations.  {8T 38.5}

Isaiah 38:17

Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  2 Corinthians 12:9.  {YRP 135.1}

You may be disappointed, and your will and your way may be denied; but be assured that the Lord loves you.  The furnace fire may kindle upon you, not for the purpose of destroying you, but to consume the dross, that you may come forth as gold seven times purified.  Bear in mind that God will give you songs in the night.  Darkness may seem to enclose you, but you are not to look at the clouds.  Beyond the darkest cloud there is an ever-shining light.  The Lord has light for every soul.  Open the door of the heart to hope, peace, and joy.  Jesus says, "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full" (John 15:11).  {YRP 135.2}

When theres darkness all around, its hard sometimes to open the door.

(N). Proverbs 3:7-8

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

While the Lord has not promised His people exemption from trials, He has promised that which is far better.  He has said, "As thy days, so shall thy strength be."  "My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness."  Deuteronomy 33:25; 2 Corinthians 12:9.  If you are called to go through the fiery furnace for His sake, Jesus will be by your side even as He was with the faithful three in Babylon.  Those who love their Redeemer will rejoice at every opportunity of sharing with Him humiliation and reproach.  The love they bear their Lord makes suffering for His sake sweet.  {MB 30.1}
