Revelation 14:1

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

The lamb of God is Jesus Christ.
Mt Zion is the great city in heaven.
The 144k are the special group that went through the great tribulation.
The Fathers name written in the forehead means that they are sealed and the name is not seen of man but angels.

The living saints, 144,000, in number, know and understand the voice, while the wicked thought it was thunder & an earthquake. When God spake the time, he poured on us the Holy Ghost, and our faces began to light up and shine with the glory of God as Moses did when he came down from Mount Sinai, (Exodus 34:30-34.) By this time the 144,000 were all sealed and perfectly united. On their foreheads was written, God, New Jerusalem, and a glorious Star containing Jesus new name. DS January 24,  1846, par. 1

"And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the Mount Sion, and with Him a hundred forty and four thousand, having His Father's name written in their foreheads."  Revelation 14:1.  In this world their minds were consecrated to God; they served Him with the intellect and with the heart; and now He can place His name "in their foreheads."  "And they shall reign for ever and ever."  Revelation 22:5.  They do not go in and out as those who beg a place.  They are of that number to whom Christ says, "Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."  He welcomes them as His children, saying, "Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."  Matthew 25:34, 21.  {AA 590.4}

(2)

What is the seal of the living God, which is placed in the foreheads of His people?  It is a mark which angels, but not human eyes, can read; for the destroying angel must see this mark of redemption.  The intelligent mind has seen the sign of the cross of Calvary in the Lord's adopted sons and daughters.  The sin of the transgression of the law of God is taken away.  They have on the wedding garment, and are obedient and faithful to all God's commands.  {21MR 52.1}

The temple was supported by seven pillars, all of transparent gold, set with pearls most glorious. The things I saw there I can but faintly describe. Oh! that I could talk in the language of Canaan, then could I tell something of the glory of the better  world. I saw there tables of stone in which the names of the one hundred and forty-four thousand were engraved in letters of gold.. LS80 217.1-LS80 217.2

Upon the crystal sea before the throne, that sea of glass as it were mingled with fire, -- so resplendent is it with the glory of God, -- are gathered the company that have "gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name."  With the Lamb upon Mount Zion, "having the harps of God," they stand, the hundred and forty and four thousand that were redeemed from among men; and there is heard, as the sound of many waters, and as the sound of a great thunder, "the voice of harpers harping with their harps."  And they sing "a new song" before the throne, a song which no man can learn save the hundred and forty and four thousand.  It is the song of Moses and the Lamb -- a song of deliverance.  None but the hundred and forty-four thousand can learn that song; for it is the song of their experience -- an experience such as no other company have ever had.  "These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth."  These, having been translated from the earth, from among the living, are counted as "the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb."  Revelation 15:2, 3; 14:1-5.  "These are they which came out of great tribulation;" they have passed through the time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation; they have endured the anguish of the time of Jacob's trouble; they have stood without an intercessor through the final outpouring of God's judgments.  But they have been delivered, for they have "washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."  "In their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault" before God.  "Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them."  They have seen the earth wasted with famine and pestilence, the sun having power to scorch men with great heat, and they themselves have endured suffering, hunger, and thirst.  But "they shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.  For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."  Revelation 7:14-17.  {GC 648.3}

John saw a Lamb on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.  They bore the signet of heaven.  They reflected the image of God.  They were full of the light and the glory of the Holy One.  If we would have the image and superscription of God upon us, we must separate ourselves from all iniquity.  We must forsake every evil way, and then we must trust our cases in the hands of Christ.  While we are working out our own salvation with fear and trembling, God will work in us to will and to do of his own good pleasure.  While you must do your part, yet it is God that must give you aid, and sanctify you.   Christ makes us penitent that he may forgive us.  We have an idea that we must do some part of the work alone.  We have thought that there are two or three steps that we must take without any help or support.  But this is not so.  The Spirit of God is continually wooing and drawing the soul to right purposes, and into harmony with the law of God.  The invitation is given to the helpless, "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk, without money and without price."  As soon as we separate ourselves from evil, and choose to serve God, we shall respond to this invitation.  {RH, March 19, 1889 par. 6}

In the issue of the great contest between the forces of good and of evil, two parties are to be developed, -- those who "worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark," and those who receive "the seal of the living God," and have "the Father's name written in their foreheads."  {ST, March 22, 1910 par. 1}

In the fourth commandment is found the seal of God's law.  This only, of all the ten, brings to view the name and the title of the Lawgiver.  It declares Him to be the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and thus shows His claim to reverence and worship above all others.  Aside from this precept, there is nothing in the Decalogue to show by whose authority the law was given.  {ST, March 22, 1910 par. 2}

When a man is filled with the Holy Spirit, the more severely he is tested and tried, the more clearly he proves that he is a true representative of Christ in word, in spirit, in action.  Christ declares, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father" (John 14:12).  What is the promise to every true believer?  "Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you" (Acts 1:8).  Might we not better, my brethren and sisters, take ourselves to task for our unlikeness to Christ?  He says, "Ye are my witnesses" (Isaiah 43:10).  What kind of witnesses are we for truth and righteousness?  Are we striving with all our God-given powers to reach the measure of the stature of men and women in Christ?  Are we seeking for His fullness, ever reaching higher and higher, trying to attain to the perfection of His character?  {1MR 370.2}

When God's servants reach this point, they will be sealed in their foreheads.  The recording angel will declare, "It is done."  They will be complete in Him whose they are by creation and by redemption.  {1MR 370.3}

Revelation 7:2-8

[2] And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, [3] Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. [4] And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. [5] Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. [6] Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. [7] Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. [8] Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

John's attention was called to another scene:  "And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God" (Revelation 7:2).  Who is this?  The Angel of the covenant.  He comes from the sunrising.  He is the Dayspring from on high.  He is the Light of the world.  "In Him was life; and the life was the light of men" (John 1:4).  This is the One Isaiah describes: "Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6).  He cried, as One who had superiority over the hosts of angels in heaven "to whom it was given to hurt the earth, and the sea, saying, "hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads" (Revelation 7:2, 3).  {15MR 221.3}

Here is the divine and human united.  The command is given to the four angels to hold in check the four winds until they receive His summons.  Read the entire chapter.  The cry, "Hurt not," is uttered by the Restorer, the Redeemer.  {15MR 222.1}

Four mighty angels are still holding the four winds of the earth.  Terrible destruction is forbidden to come in full.  The accidents by land and by sea; the loss of life, steadily increasing, by storm, by tempest, by railroad disaster, by conflagration; the terrible floods, the earthquakes, and the winds will be the stirring up of the nations to one deadly combat, while the angels hold the four winds, forbidding the terrible power of Satan to be exercised in its fury until the servants of God are sealed in their foreheads.  {ML 308.2}

Angels are holding the four winds, which are represented as an angry horse seeking to break loose and rush over the face of the whole earth, bearing destruction and death in its path.  {ML 308.3}

A terrible conflict is before us.  We are nearing the battle of the great day of God Almighty.  That which has been held in control is to be let loose.  The angel of mercy is folding her wings, preparing to step down from the throne and leave the world to the control of Satan.  The principalities and powers of earth are in bitter revolt against the God of heaven.  They are filled with hatred against those who serve Him, and soon, very soon, will be fought the last great battle between good and evil.  The earth is to be the battlefield -- the scene of the final contest and the final victory.  {ML 308.4}

While their hands were loosening, and the four winds were about to blow, the merciful eye of Jesus gazed on the remnant that were not sealed, and He raised His hands to the Father and pleaded with Him that He had spilled His blood for them.  Then another angel was commissioned to fly swiftly to the four angels and bid them hold until the servants of God were sealed with the seal of the living God in their foreheads.  {ML 308.5}

Mount Zion:

Isaiah 35:10  And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Psalm 14:7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Hebrews 12:22-24 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, [23] To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, [24] And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.  Isaiah 35:10 {ML 344.1}

It is at midnight that God manifests His power for the deliverance of His people.  The sun appears, shining in its strength.  Signs and wonders follow in quick succession.  The wicked look with terror and amazement upon the scene, while the righteous behold with solemn joy the tokens of their deliverance.  Everything in nature seems turned out of its course ... Dark, heavy clouds come up, and clash against each other.  In the midst of the angry heavens is one clear space of indescribable glory, whence comes the voice of God like the sound of many waters, saying, "It is done."  {ML 344.2}

That voice shakes the heavens and the earth.  There is a mighty earthquake, "such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great."  The firmament appears to open and shut.  The glory from the throne of God seems flashing through.  The mountains shake like a reed in the wind, and ragged rocks are scattered on every side ... {ML 344.3}

Graves are opened, and "many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth ... awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt."  All who have died in the faith of the third angel's message come forth from the tomb glorified, to hear God's covenant of peace with those who have kept His law ... {ML 344.4}

The voice of God is heard from heaven, declaring the day and hour of Jesus' coming and delivering the everlasting covenant to His people.  Like peals of loudest thunder, His words roll through the earth.  The Israel of God stand listening, with their eyes fixed upward.  Their countenances are lighted up with His glory, and shine as did the face of Moses when he came down from Sinai.  The wicked cannot look upon them.  And when the blessing is pronounced on those who have honored God by keeping His Sabbath holy, there is a mighty shout of victory.  {ML 344.5}

Exodus 15:1

Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

The song of Moses and the song of the lamb.

The song of Moses is a song of deliverance. The song of the 144k is a song of deliverance. No others can join in this song but the 144k. None have had their experience.

They are defiled by this woman:

Revelation 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

John is talking about spiritual fornication.  It involves internal and external idolatry.  These have made themselves as a bride to marry Jesus.

They follow the Lamb of God through all hardships in humility.

Revelation 7:17  For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Jesus has rescued them from the world and now they live their life reflecting His.

John beholds the loyal people of God, and he exclaims, "Here is the patience of the saints; here are they that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus" [verse 12].  Babylon is represented as holding a wine cup in her hand, from which she makes all nations drink. The nations commit spiritual fornication by divorcing themselves from God and trampling on His commandments.  The time in which the saints live is a trying one for those who refuse to receive the mark of the beast and his image, but through it all the saints show their patience.  They continue to be steadfast in the faith, even should their firmness cost them their lives.  {14MR 159.1}

God is weary of professional falseness and hollow hypocrisy.  "And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God."  What grand words, how cheering and uplifting.  "Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?  or who shall stand in His holy place?  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully,"  "he that walketh uprightly and worketh righteousness, and keepeth the truth in his heart," "he shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation" [Psalms 24:3-5; 15:2].  {14MR 95.1}

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

//////////

preaching the Good News to all, it is a world wide movement, a final warning

Romans 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. [17] For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Galatians 1:8  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

//////////

one could give sermons on this verse but I will be brief,,,,,,,

Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

Give glory to God by confessing our sins, by thanking Him for the blessings, and by keeping His commandments.

There is a pre-advent judgment, the 1,000 years of meting out the judgement of the wicked and then the execution of the judgment.

worship the creator and nothing else

I'm still not clear on what it means to be "defiled" by these women.

Does it mean that those not defiled were never members of these fallen churches?

Or does it mean that when the Loud Cry goes that they will already have been out of those fallen churches?

Or does it mean that any time before Probation closes that they will have left those fallen churches?

Or is it possible to be a SDA member in good standing and still be "defiled" with these women?
