Did Adam keep the first Sabbath?

No, this isn't a trick question.  I was astounded last year to see that a respected SDA pastor (Stephen Bohr) has publicly stated that Adam did not keep the first Sabbath day.  He basically says that only God kept that day, and God didn't make that day holy until the end of that day, so Adam didn't start keeping the Sabbath until this earth's 2nd Sabbath.  That would mean that Adam didn't keep the 7th day holy, but the 14th, 21st, etc.

That would ruin a lot of types and symbols, I believe, in the Holy Scriptures, but I admit, that as of today, I cannot find unequivocally in the Bible or Ellen White's writings where it says Adam actually kept the very first Sabbath.

If anybody has an opinion or light on this, please let me know.

It might be worth looking at some ot the raw underlying material.

Both quotes below appear to say that the first Sabbath was to be an example to humanity, and the second quote says that God set apart the Sabbath after providing an example of resting on it.

I have no axe to grind, but I get the idea that the first Sabbath was a special case.

---

God made man in His own image and then gave him an example of observing the seventh day, which He sanctified and made holy.  {4T 247.3}

After resting upon the seventh day, God sanctified it, or set it apart, as a day of rest for man.  Following the example of the Creator, man was to rest upon this sacred day, that as he should look upon the heavens and the earth, he might reflect upon God's great work of creation; and that as he should behold the evidences of God's wisdom and goodness, his heart might be filled with love and reverence for his Maker.  {PP 47.3}
