When the human agent believes in Christ as his personal Saviour, he is eating the daily bread which Christ has purchased for him at an infinite cost. As by eating temporal food, the physical system becomes strong, so by eating the flesh and drinking the blood of the Son of God, the spiritual nature is strengthened. Gods Word is spirit and life to all who appropriate it. He who partakes of Christs flesh and blood is a partaker of the divine nature. He is a branch of the living vine. As in nature the branch receives the nourishment by its connection with the parent stalk, so the believer receives his life from Christ. A vital, life-giving current flows from his Saviour to him. {Ms48-1895}

May God help us to understand that we must be laborers together with Him. Let us begin right here to be coworkers with heaven. Put away the foolish reading matter, and study the Word of God. Commit its precious promises to memory, so that when we shall be deprived of our Bibles, we may still be in possession of the Word of God. Cultivate the attributes of earnestness, bringing into all your labors for others the simplicity of true godliness. This will help you to reach the hearts of those you are trying to help. {Ms85-1909}

I know that this goes against the view of some of the pioneers like U. Smith. But, remember the pioneers were not inspired. EGW was inspired of God.

Thank you NB for the reminder to prepare for the time of test and trial.

I was taught to memorize scripture when I was young. I have not been consistent in doing this as an adult. I'm renewing my commitment to doing this moving forward.

How sweet.... yes, Shireen it is important that we not lose touch with Jesus on a moment by moment basis.... I send out a 3-word devotional to many around the world daily hoping that people will keep scripture in their minds all day long.... it's not to hard to think of three words. Interesting that some are committed to memorizing the whole scripture and look at it through out the day!! Wonderful!

The 1335.. One week ago, last Sabbath, we had a very interesting meeting. Brother Hewit from Dead River was there. He came with a message to the effect that the destruction of the wicked and the sleep of the dead was an abomination within a shut door that a woman Jezebel, a prophetess, had brought in and he believed that I was that woman, Jezebel. We told him of some of his errors in the past, that the 1335 days were ended and numerous errors of his. It had but little effect. His darkness was felt upon the meeting and it dragged. {Lt28-1850}

That is in reference to Daniel 12.

His very first temptation was to be jealous of God who had done everything for him to make him happy in the heavenly courts before his rebellion. He framed up falsehoods and charged God that in forbidding their eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge He was withholding wisdom that would make them wise. Strange to say, Eve was deceived; Adam was not but was persuaded by his wife and both ate of the forbidden tree. {Ms77-1896}

you all might think that this is a ho hum thing but not really.... there was a debate over whether Satan actually possessed a real serpent and used it's body by demon possession or whether he made himself into a disguise of a serpent....

Then I had a view of Sister Minor and others with her, that their visions were not true, that God had not spoken by them.

I saw that if we are to go to Jerusalem, then the truth should not be made plain upon tables, for our minds should be turned towards Jerusalem and our means should be reserved to get the saints to Jerusalem.

I saw that the faults and errors of Sister Minor and those with her in past time had not been confessed.

This is the reason why they have been left to run into great errors. I saw that Bro. Bates must be careful and be willing to receive light that comes in other ways besides through visions. I saw that he was too slow to receive light from his brethren. {Ms15-1850}

(Jesus steps out before the plagues, on the cloud)

I saw that the nominal churches and nominal Adventists, like Judas, would betray us to the Catholics, to obtain their influence to come against the saints. The saints will be an obscure people, but little known to the Catholics, but the church and nominal Adventists will know of our faith and customs, and will betray the saints and report them to the Catholics, as those who disregard the institution of the pope, that is they keep the Sabbath and disregard Sunday. {Ms15-1850}

Then the Catholics bid the Protestants to go forward and issue a decree that all who will not observe the first day of the week instead of the seventh shall be slain, and the Catholics, whose numbers are large, will stand by the Protestants. The Catholics will give their power to the image of the beast and then Protestants will work as their mother worked before them to destroy the saints. But before their decrees bring forth or bear fruit, the saints will be delivered by the voice of God. {Ms15-1850}

Then I saw that Jesus work in the sanctuary was almost finished, almost finished, and after His work there is finished He will come to the door of the tabernacle, or door of the first apartment, and confess the sins of Israel upon the head of the scape goat. Then He will put on the garments of vengeance. Then the plagues come upon the wicked, and they do not come until Jesus puts on the garments of vengeance and takes His seat upon the great white cloud. Then while the plagues are falling the scape goat is being led away. He makes a mighty struggle to escape, but he is held fast by the hand that bears him away. If he should effect his escape Israel would be destroyed (or slain). I saw that it would take time to bear him away into the land of forgetfulness after the sins were put upon his head. {Ms15-1850}

Jesus clothes Himself with the garments of vengeance and takes His place upon the great white cloud before the plagues are poured out. The great white cloud, I saw, was not in the holy place but entirely separate from the holy and most holy, entirely separate from the sanctuary. {Ms15-1850}

As Jesus passed through the holy place or first apartment, to the door to confess the sins of Israel on the scape goat, an angel said, This apartment is called the sanctuary. Then the angel repeated these words and said this is the time spoken of, and he saw that there was no man and wondered that there was no intercessor; we had no mediator between God and man and the plagues could be withheld no longer, for Jesus had ceased to plead for Israel, and they were covered with the covering of Almighty God and lived in His sight, and those who were not covered felt the plagues, for they had nothing to shelter them. {Ms15-1850}

The Resurrection

Our personal identity is preserved in the resurrection, though not the same particles of matter or material substance as went into the grave. The wondrous works of God are a mystery to man. The spirit, the character of man is returned to God there to be preserved. In the resurrection every man will have his own character. God in His own time will call forth the dead, giving again the breath of life, and bidding the dry bones live. The same form will come forth, but it will be free from disease and every defect. It lives again bearing the same individuality of features, so that friend will recognize friend. There is no law of God in nature which shows that God gives back the same identical particles of matter which composed the body before death. God shall give the righteous dead a body that will please Him. 15LtMs, Ms 76, 1900, par. 10

Many ask me about heaven and what will they be like and if people will recognize them.... and another point here is that the SOUL does not go to heaven... the breath of life and the character are returned to God preserved and waiting for the resurrection

Mark of the beast and the image

Christ Himself came to explain the law, and He presents the Sabbath on its original basis. He said, I am the Lord of the Sabbath. The Bible truth is not hid from anyone, unless it is hid to them that are lost, because they will not take the plain statement of the Word of God. Antichrists appear. Satan and evil angels counsel to do away with Gods sign. They said, We will take Sunday, and make the world believe it is the Sabbath of [the] fourth commandment. When they will compel all <to keep it,> that is the mark of the beast and his image. All the lying signs and wonders, and mass of corruptions and slime, are the imprint of the satanic. They show blindness that is inconceivable. {Ms12-1893}

7 Thunders

After these seven thunders uttered their voices, the injunction comes to John, as to Daniel, in regard to the little book: Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered. These relate to future events which will be disclosed in their order. Daniel shall stand in his lot at the end of the days. John sees the little book unsealed. Then Daniels prophecies have their proper place in the first, second, and third angels messages to be given to the world. The unsealing of the little book was the message in relation to time. {Ms59-1900}

The books of Daniel and the Revelation are one. One is a prophecy, the other a revelation; one a book sealed, the other a book opened. John heard the mysteries which the thunders uttered, but he was commanded not to write them. The special light given to John which was expressed in the seven thunders was a delineation of events which would transpire under the first and second angels messages. It was not best for the people to know these things, for their faith must necessarily be tested. In the order of God, most wonderful and advanced truths would be proclaimed. The first and second angels messages were to be proclaimed, but no further light was to be revealed before these messages had done their specific work. This is represented by the Angel standing with one foot on the sea, proclaiming with a most solemn oath that time should be no longer. {Ms59-1900}

The 7 thunders are future, & they will happen during the 3AM, our faith will be tested. The phrase In His Lot is significant here too. It refers to the book of Daniel and the prophecies for our time. But Gods people should work with persevering energy to let their light shine upon the people in regard to the law and thus to withstand the enemies of God and His truth. When the law of God has been made void and apostasy becomes a national sin, the Lord will work in behalf of His people. Their extremity will be His opportunity. The mighty Angel who instructed John was no less a personage than Jesus Christ. Setting His right foot on the sea, and His left upon the dry land, shows the part which He is acting in the closing scenes of the great controversy with Satan. This position denotes His supreme power and authority over the whole earth. The controversy has waxed stronger and more determined from age to age, and will continue to do so, to the concluding scenes when the masterly working of the powers of darkness shall reach their height. Satan, united with evil men, will deceive the whole world and the churches who receive not the love of the truth. But the mighty Angel demands attention. He cries with a loud voice. He is to show the power and authority of His voice to those who have united with Satan to oppose the truth. {Ms59-1900}

This time, which the Angel declares with a solemn oath, is not the end of this worlds history, neither of probationary time, but of prophetic time, which should precede the advent of our Lord. That is, the people will not have another message upon definite time. After this period of time, reaching from 1842 to 1844, there can be no definite tracing of the prophetic time. The longest reckoning reaches to the autumn of 1844. {Ms59-1900}

The Angels position, with one foot on the sea, the other on the land, signifies the wide extent of the proclamation of the message. It will cross the broad waters and be proclaimed in other countries, even to all the world. The comprehension of truth, the glad reception of the message, is represented in the eating of the little book. The truth in regard to the time of the advent of our Lord was a precious message to our souls. {Ms59-1900}

Two bible references come to mind here:

Dan_12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Rev 10:2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,

Comments: Notice too that what is bolded.... it is the end of prophetic time not the end of all time.... prophetic time is declared as a day as a year in prophecy. When we get to the point of 1844, no more assigning prophectic time/ a day as a year. After that everything is literal. For example, the 1,000 years. Having said that, no one will know the exact time when probation closes, just like in Noah's day. Time is not the test for our time, the Sabbath is our test. In 1844, time WAS the test.

Also notice that she says the longest reckoning concludes in 1844. This refers to the 2300 day prophecy. It is the longest prophecy in the bible. There is none other.

What does the Faith of Jesus mean?

The faith of Jesus. It is talked of, but not understood. What constitutes the faith of Jesus that belongs to the third angels message? Jesus becoming our sin-bearer that He might become our sin-pardoning Saviour. He was treated as we deserve to be treated. He came to our world and took our sins that we might take His righteousness. Faith in the ability of Christ to save us amply and fully and entirely is the faith of Jesus. {Ms24-1888}

While I really don't like long posts, I have just put a few excepts here. I will put the whole thing in another post called the living temple. And also some direct quotes from the living temple itself to try and clarify and to prove just in case some might not accept these quotes. Therefore, you read the quotes from the text itself and decide for yourself.

When I first left the state of Maine, it was to go through Vermont and Massachusetts, to bear a testimony against these sentiments. Living Temple contains the Alpha of these theories. The Omega would follow in a little while. I tremble for our people. These beautiful representations are similar to the temptation that the enemy brought to Adam and Eve in Eden. {Ms46-1904}

There are some things upon which we must reason, and there are other things that we must not discuss. In regard to Godwhat He is and where He issilence is eloquence. When you are tempted to speak of what God is, keep silence, because as surely as you begin to speak of this, you will disparage Him. {Ms46-1904}

We know that Christ came in person to reveal God to the world. God is a person, and Christ is a person. Christ is spoken of in the Word as the brightness of His Fathers glory, and the express image of His person. {Ms46-1904}

And I was instructed that certain sentiments in Living Temple were the Alpha of a long list of deceptive theories. {Ms46-1904}

The battle has nearly killed me. I saw what was coming in, and I saw that our brethren were blind. They did not realize the danger. Our young people, especially, were in danger. They delighted in the beautiful representationsGod in the flower, God in the leaf, God in the tree. But if God be in these things, why not worship them? {Ms46-1904}
