Approval of God

In going thru the original Great Controversy: http://www.earlysda.com/gc/the_great_controversy.html i noticed that there ARE several times when God looked on his church with approval/approbation.

Chapter 17 The Great Apostasy:

quote:

But God looked with great approbation upon his faithful martyrs, and the Christians who lived in that fearful time were greatly beloved of him; for they were willing to suffer for his sake.

Chapter 25 Advent Movement Illustrated:
quote:

Jesus looked upon them with sweet approbation. They expected Jesus to come. They longed for his appearing. They did not cast one lingering look to earth.

Chapter 26 Another Illustration:
quote:

Jesus and all the angelic host looked with approbation upon the faithful, waiting ones.

Chapter 29 A Firm Platform:
quote:

I saw a company who stood well guarded and firm, and would give no countenance to those who would unsettle the established faith of the body. God looked upon them with approbation.

Chapter 32 The Shaking:
quote:

Now and then their faces would light up with the marks of God's approbation, and again the same solemn, earnest, anxious look settled upon them.

AND in the same chapter talking about the time AFTER they've been shaken, and are giving the Loud Cry:

quote:

They (wickded) were all astir. The zeal and power with the people of God had aroused and enraged them. Confusion, confusion, was on every side. I saw measures taken against this company, who were having the power and light of God. Darkness thickened around them, yet there they stood, approved of God, and trusting in him.

And there are those who never get their approval of God. In talking about God's church it says in Chapter 30 Covetousness:
quote:

Not a particle of covetousness or selfishness can God approbate. He hates it, and he despises the prayers and exhortations of those who possess it.

AND
In talking about those who rejected the Loud Cry - Chapter 35 The Third Message Closed:

quote:

Those who had not prized God's word were hurrying to and fro. They wandered from sea to sea, and from the north to the east, to seek the word of the Lord. Said the angel, They shall not find it. There is a famine in the land; not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord. What would they not give for one word of approval from God? but no, they must hunger and thirst on.

I definitely want the approval of God, so what is required? And what must it take before a whole body gets that approval? Maybe i should ask first if anyone thinks we currently have the approval of God today in the Seventh-day Adventist church?

I do not believe that as a church we have the approval of God. We as the remnant church for the last days, with the light God has blessed us with, have  slowly yet predictably turned our backs to the Holy word and the spirit of Prophecy.  There is a falling away from the great truths God has bestowed upon us. We if we are to gain back the approval of God and to be ready for His soon coming we must surrender self and become Christlike. We are to have the character of God. the mind of Christ if we are to be allowed entrance into Heaven. Our love for God and for our fellow man must be like that of Jesus when he was here on earth. Then we will have the approval and acceptance of our Heavenly Father.

That small company hiding in the wilderness awaiting their Lord's return may not be themselves Seventh-day Adventist, and they may not be church members, and they most certianly won't be going to church.

All those hiding in the wilderness in the final days will definitely be ones believing the Seventh-day Adventist message, even if perhaps the official church at that time does not recognize them as SDA members.
