This is now and was the future when EGW penned this.  Read and listen up!  This a strong admonition so be braced to receive it!

                                     Great Distress Coming, and God's People Not Prepared For It

     "I saw greater distress in the land than we have yet witnessed. I heard groans and cries of distress. I saw large companies in active battle. I heard the booming of the cannon, the clash of arms, the hand-to- hand fight. I heard the groans and prayers of the dying. The ground was covered with the wounded and the dead. I saw desolate, despairing families, and pinching want in many dwellings. I saw that even now many families are suffering want, but this will increase. The faces of many families looked haggard, pale, and pinched with hunger. I was shown that the people of God should be closely united in the bonds of Christian fellowship and love. God alone can be our shield and strength in this time of our national calamities.  {4bSG 58.1}
 
     The people of God should awake. Their opportunities to spread the truth should be improved, for they will not thus last long. I was shown distress, and perplexity, and famine, in the land; and Satan is now seeking to hold God's people in a state of inactivity, to keep them from acting their part in spreading the truth, and that they may be at last weighed in the balance and found wanting.  {4bSG 58.2}
 
     I saw that God's people must take warning and discern the signs of the times. The signs of Christ's coming are too plain to be doubted; and in view of these things every one who professes the truth should be living preachers. God calls upon all to awake; preachers and people must awake. All Heaven is astir. The scenes of this earth's history are fast closing. We are amid the perils of the last days. Greater perils are before us, and yet we are not awake. This lack of activity and earnestness in the cause of God is dreadful. This death-stupor is from Satan. He controls the minds of unconsecrated Sabbath-keepers, and leads them to be jealous of each other, fault-finding, and censorious. It is Satan's special work to divide hearts, that the influence, strength, and labor, of God's servants may be kept among unconsecrated Sabbath-keepers, and precious time be occupied to settle little differences, which should be spent in proclaiming to unbelievers the truth.  {4bSG 58.3} 

     I was shown God's people waiting for some change to take place--a compelling power to take hold of them. But they will be disappointed. They are wrong. They must act. They must take hold of the work themselves, and earnestly cry unto God for a true knowledge of themselves. The scenes which are passing before us are of sufficient magnitude to cause us to arouse. In view of these things we must urge the truth home to the hearts of all whom we can get to listen to it. The harvest of the earth is nearly ripe.  {4bSG 59.1} 

    I was shown how important that ministers be right who engage in the solemn, responsible work of proclaiming the third angel's message. The Lord is not straightened for means or instruments to do his own work. He can speak at any time by whom he will, and his word is powerful and will accomplish the thing whereunto it is sent. But if the truth has not sanctified, and made pure and clean the hands and heart of him who ministers in holy things, he is liable to speak according to his own imperfect experience; and when he speaks of himself, according to the decisions of his own unsanctified judgment, his counsel is not then of God, but of himself. As he that is called of God is called to be holy, so he that is approved and set apart of men must give evidence of his holy calling, and show forth in his heavenly conversation and conduct that he is faithful to Him who hath called him.  {4bSG 59.2} 

Dear folks do we not have much work to get together and be in unity and harmony with Him and His Word and so thus among us?  There will for sure be unity and harmony with all who have His Spirit of Truth.

His promise here will do it when we receive it, a most precious promise!

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Then I saw them rushing up engaged in hand-to-hand fighting [bayoneting one another]. Then I saw the field after the battle, all covered with the dead and dying. Then I was carried to prison, and saw the suffering of those in want, who were wasting away. Then I was taken to the homes of those who had lost husbands, sons, or brothers in the war.      "There are those in this house who will lose sons in that war."  {GCDB, January 31, 1893 par. 4}

Will civil or urban war happen in the USA again ?   The potential exists.   Urban warfare ?   The potential exists .      Get out of the cities, lead quiet humble peaceful lives as medical missionaries in the rural countryside areas where ever God leads.  Love all as God through Christ has loved you.

 Christ as Redeemer never took up arms - you don't either.  Leave it for Christ as King of Kings to wage war at the second Coming - He is sufficient.  Read your Bibles and obey, read SOP and obey thus partaking of Christ's divine nature & eating His flesh and drinking His blood through faithful harmless obedience using faith that works by love and only love.  Love is defined by each what step on Peter's Ladder, is and involves, and what 1st Corinthians ch 13 & John ch 17 says about it.  Jesus lived each step and description - follow Him.

I find war is coming to the USA and it will be the worst blow this country has ever even dreamed of.  We are not the super power we once were and now we are owned by the  countries we are in debt to and they are wanting their collateral as they see we never can pay them back and not even the interest so they are moving to take a part of our country and each have rule over that section.

Some say it will be the BRIC countries.  I don't for sure know but we do owe China the most.  We are hopelessly in debt.

I do believe what she is describing above in my post is at our doorstep now.

God's inspired words say that America is the great land beast that gives its power to the sea beast.

Percentage wise, there are many other countries in the world deeper in debt than America.

No other country is going to "take over" America in any of our lifetimes.

More likely is that ISIS or some other Islamic group will attack America, giving rise to an angry, one-world coalition response led by America.

Yes, we know the labor unions will bring the crisis in the cities, so we should be out of them so we can live like kings and queens smile

Many do not believe George Washington's vision is valid but I must state this about it, the first two perils of it came to pass exactly and so we can have at least some confidence in it.

The purported "Vision of George Washington" seems to have been written by a Union supporter in the years leading up to the Civil War.

Since it contradicts God's words thru his messenger, we can know that it is not from God.

It is documented that the first two perils that America was to go through have long happened and it now is appearing that we are entering into the third.

We must realize too that G. Washington was a very sincere Christian man of which we wish could have been of the same with the last half dozen or so we've had bringing us down.

I am saying we will soon see as we know now the end of the reign of sin our God is soon to bring to a close.
