We Must Fall Upon the Rock and Be Broken!

Yes this is a must.  Just as a wild Mustang horse must be broken to a new master and not of self no more we must be too to be of any use to our Master.  That is if we will be willing and surrender to be His.

That horse took a lot of convincing and some a lot.  How much will it take for us?

  "Every one who accepts the present truth should make the fullest possible surrender of himself to God. He should fall upon the Rock, and be broken. Old habits, hereditary and cultivated traits of character, must all be broken up; we must yield ourselves to be moulded by the divine Spirit if we would become vessels unto honor. Do not seek to conform the truth to your peculiarities and imperfections. But as the Comforter shall come, and reprove you of sin and of righteousness and of judgment, be careful lest you resist the Spirit, and be left in darkness. Be willing to see your errors and yield up your self-will. Submit yourself to God, that he may work in you to will and to do according to his good pleasure."MS.  {GW92 311.2}

Lu 20:17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
Lu 20:18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Jesus Christ of course is the Rock and in the verse above the corner stone.

But did you notice those not falling upon Him, He will grind to powder!

Let us be broken to Jesus Christ fully and obedient to all He desires of us, wanting to please Him now being our pleasure!
1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

How does one fall on the Rock?

"to fall on the rock" = 23 SOP hits  on the EGW CD Rom Disk and is very instructive but only with reading of both context + quote.

Scripture says Christ is the Chief Corner Stone - The Rock.

Christ is not broken, the one coming to Him is.

Therefore Christ's instructions apply to this command to come to Him one on one, for it is not will that is to be broken , but self - will.

Selfish will, hardheartedness, defiance of God's laws of character and actions that are ruling the carnal heart, unholy envy, jealousy, hatred of what God does not say to hate, and hating what God says to love, whatever the defiant opposition of the heart, mind, life toward Christ's rule and teachings; both within or toward others................. this is brought to Christ and confessed and forsaken and given to Christ, pleading for recvonversion to be done by His power.

Then the heart, mind, life is opened for Christ to break Satan's rule in the person and restore His divine life, character, attitude,  and teachings - in that same individual who is now surrendered to Christ and risen up from former wickedness to serve and obey Christ from a newly converted heart and mind.

Matthew 21:44  And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Luke 20:18  Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Matthew 16:24  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Mark 8:34  And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Luke 9:23  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Matthew 10:

29  Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

30  But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31  Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

32  Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

33  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

34  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35  For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36  And a mans foes shall be they of his own household.

37  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

39  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40  He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

41  He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophets reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous mans reward.

42  And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

my studies have shown me that perceiving the LOVE of God and dwelling on it and contemplating the life of Christ and His character makes one realize their state more and more...  then one is broken
