Revelation 14:7  Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

A 4 part command that is loudly commanded around the world. Why is NAD whispering and too often silent in teaching the rank and file of our members each Sabbath?

(1.) Fear God,  what does it mean to Biblically fear God ?, how and why is it done ?, where are the instructions ?

(2.)  give glory to him;  what does it mean to Biblically glorify God ?, how and why is it done ?, where are the instructions ?

(3.) the hour of his judgment is come: Why is there a PRE Advent judgment ?  What is happening ? When did it start ? How do I explain it in simple conversation ? What does God want - not want ? Is it a done deal from the get go or do I have forks in a progressive road - does my condition and responce matter ?

(4.)  worship him  < that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. >         How do I know WHO to worship ? What IS worship ? Why are there terms of worship don't I decide how to worship ?

Step by step looking at these things using the Deuteronomy 29:29  + Amos 3:7 + ( Deut 8:3 / Matt 4:4 ) model  not the Greek model of " I Think therefore I AM "

(1.) Fear God, what does it mean to Biblically fear God ?, how and why is it done ?, where are the instructions ?

When I traveled doing polysomnography through agencies, I would lookup SDA Churches to worship at during my contracted stay.  I would ask pastors " What does it mean from KJV  to Biblically fear God, after all it's part of our message and if we don't understand it we can never DO it, because we won't know the mapped out destination so we won't know where to start or if we ever got there or not ?      Answer from the Bible please, because when God speaks reality changes or begins, ends, shifts to obey, etc. When we speak it's just wind and noise that vanishes away.    God makes operating policy for reality - we don't.

RESPONCES often gotten ............................ religious platiitudes, phrases, and NO Scripture, facial expressions and eyes looking back and forth or off in the distance, while trying to invent an answer and wishing me gone.

Is it a subject in modern theology, seminary, university religion major - ciricula and practicum and field application - obviously NOT or so under served as to vanish when exams are over.

So I decided to use the freeware downloaded quite prior to that to ask my own questions and fing The Bible & SOP answers.   After all only God makes operating policy for reality - we don't.  His words make things happen, we just make noise.

I don't know if links are allowed or not  so I will try posting without hyperlinking till told different.     Bible freeware  onlinebible.net   ( add the www if you look up for your selves at home )

It took time and asking the right questions to find the phrase in the Bible texts that are derivations of Biblically fearing God.     I found 400+ KJV Bible texts that were some derivation of fearing God.

Moses set the tone :  Deuteronomy 10: 12 ¶  And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
13  To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
14  Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORDS thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
15  Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
16  Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
17  For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
18  He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
19  Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
20  Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
21  He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
22  Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.

I will put the link to the blod I posted what I found and my observations and what the Bible & Jesus testifying after wards in our nations history - explain and unpack it.  WARNING I AM WORDY biggrin

Go deeper than the english language knee jerk idea of being afraid.

Jesus was not afraid of His Father, it was the sailors that threw Jonah overboard that were in terror.   Moses was not afraid of I AM upon the mountain top, it was the people unrepentant in their sins whom the Holy Ghost put under conviction that were in terror, and rightly so. Until peace with God is found part of conviction often contains terror.

1 John 4:18  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Genesis 15:1  After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

Exodus 20:20  And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

Revelation 1:17  And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

Deuteronomy 10:12  And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

2 Timothy 1:7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

**********************************

walking with God / Loving God / serving God with undivided heart , mind, life >  departing from evil & removing the personal idols and all affections for them - is part of Biblically fearing God.

Job 28:28  And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Proverbs 3:7  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Proverbs 8:13  The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Proverbs 16:6  By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

Having the attitude of mercy and extending mercy = 's part of Biblically fearing God

Nehemiah 1:11  O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the kings cupbearer.

Psalms 5:7  But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

Psalms 33:18  Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

Psalms 103:11  For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

Psalms 103:17  But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto childrens children;

Psalms 118:4  Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Psalms 147:11  The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

Proverbs 16:6  By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

Luke 1:50  And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

If God is viewed as merciful to a believer, that Biblically fears God, why is God the source of mercy, also viewed as the source of terror  because that believer "fears" God, it seems like the english usage of the word "fear" out of context is causing the modern misunderstanding, unless the beliver is aware of unconfessed unrepented of sins, which in that case are good reason for distress and conviction.

In all my years as an SDA I have only heard one other person , Frank Webb speak of obtaining the love that God implanted into the human nature of Jesus.    Jesus and Paul and John speak of obtaining this love Agape , Agapous, Philio, compassion.  John ch 17:26, Eph ch 3, Gospel of John & Epistles of John.

Biblically fearing God >  obtaining His Love ( deny self daily, lift own cross, follow Him , ask for that love, act on it despite feelings ), turn away from known evils, obtain mercifulness and extend mercy to others, live the "Golden Rule", teach Biblically fearing God,

"Fear God" = 10 Texts
fear* the Lord = 190 Bible Texts
"fearing God" = 1 Bible Text
"feareth God" = 5 Bible Texts
"fear of God" = 8 Bible Texts
fear* God as a word search = 125 Bible Texts
"My Fear" = 4 Bible Texts
"Fear* Me" = 6 Bible Texts
"he fear* " = 10 Bible Texts
"they fear* " = 23 Bible Texts
" fear* not " = 71 Bible Texts
fear* merc* - a word search = 10 Bible Texts 9 that apply to fearing God

Start with the Bible's first definition of Biblically fearing God.

Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

to fear the LORD thy God - is what it's called, then Moses unpacks what it's made of.

to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul

Good to see someone really studying and not buying into the "unconditional love" error that has swept both the liberal and conservative camps of us Seventh-day Adventists.

Fear seems to be related directly to doing what God says.  That is for our own good, and of course for the harmony of the entire universe that we hope to inhabit one day.

dear webmaster how do I create a profile / join / etc ?

Back to BIBLICALLY fearing God. Such is God's desired preperations that gives Jesus more lattitude to interceed and rescue during the Investigative Judgment that is going on and accelerating now. God pays attention to what we do and why we do it.

Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Ezekiel 18:

20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
21 ¶ But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

Ezekiel 33

8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

10 ¶ Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.

19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

******************************************

Anyone interested in WHY there is a PRE ADVENT INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT ? It ties in with Biblically Fearing God, obtaining His character ( glory) and living it where people can get touched with God's influence and they see those works from the heart and themselves give glory to God, and worship in SPIRIT and Truth and worship according to Inspirations's specifics > viewing God as Creator and not as La Seirra paints Him.

**********************************

This is a call to turn to Scripture & SOP & their Author and get warmth, courage, loyalty from HIM, in NAD it seems like the numeric majority of fellow SDA's are less warm, less couragous, less loyal ................................... less filled with the implanted love from God, the less walking with God............ than before.

Satan is tapping the keg at the bottom, working to drain it, and filling the keg with his own body temp normal saline from the top, working to refill it differently.

sort of like learning to Biblically fear God,   Isaiah 1:

16  Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

17  Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18  Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

How do you wash after this sort ?  You come to jesus just are you are right then, and you sell yourself to Him, you give Him the ownership title of you, He works "red heifer" style to become propetiation for you. ( cleansing & temporaraly deleting olf life and pasting His life upon, and starts weaving it inside you as your mind  / heart opens to Him. )

1 Peter 1:22  Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Obeying the truths of Scripture, you meet Jesus in your power to choose, and there you see His cross and finally you pick up your own cross, and the heart door is open and He is allowed to cleanse you.

Romans 3:

24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Present obedience in place of present transgressing causes sins once ongoing to become past sins, freeying up the intercession of Jesus to avail and cleanse.

RBF is part of Biblically fearing God too.  smile

The reason I said temporarlly deleting old life =  Ezekiel ch 18 & 33, if so choosing all the person's old sins can be returned, and none of the goodness through Christ remembered. It's an Investigative Judgement issue that allows the freewill choice of the person to over ride God's personal preferences if they insist. Read those ch's in KJV, am I reading them correctly ?

I have been wondering why NAD is so quiet and unstudied from seminaries on Rev 14:7

After the rebellion uncovered by evolution - La Sierra

WO vote - two unions

spiritual formation, PDC, mega churchs, church growth = #'s only @ all costs, glacier view

I think I 've got my answer in John ch 3.

14  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

belief=obedience + subordination + trust + dependance   ( not lip service to the 28 )

Proverbs 24:2  For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

Proverbs 26:23  Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.

Isaiah 29:13  Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Matthew 15:8  This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Mark 7:6  He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

Psalms 12:2  They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

OK so I just keep running into mostly the wrong group to try to interest in these things, but the law of averages says I will find SDA pastors who themselves look wistfully to Heaven and would value the idea of searching these things out to themselves see if they are so, and do not superstitiously view non seminarians as unlearned and incapable of suggesting topics worth examining.

If a pastor does not know WHAT Biblically fearing God means, it's probable that pastor can not explain HOW to Biblically fear God, nor see the contextual Biblical language of command ( imperitive tense ) fear God + give glory to God >  BECAUSE THE INVESTIGATIVE JUDGEMENT HAS STARTED AND IS ONGOING and is not about being aquitted as a default of assenting to the 28 and joining the SDA Church.  Salvation is not a shoe in for SDA's any more than for unconverted Nicodemous during the night time interview.

They don't pay enough attention to Ezekiel Ch 9, or the Bible's references of Yom Kippur.

There are two camps in NAD's pastors and officers , unions, divisions, conferences, local churches - those who love Jesus and are surviving overwork, increasing frenzy Satan is injecting into society, paperwork jungles, and budget and staffing cuts, battling the ism's coming from without & within; and those who do not love Jesus.

I want to locate and help the first camp, but too often they are always in such a rush, it's hare to tell which camp they are in, the second camp they usually knee jerk blow this off as beneath their enlightened scholarship.    wanted to help them too, but they distain it.     Truth it does a body good, this is all right there in KJV & SOP , so even if my spin on it is not perfect, it's in the ball park I hope.

I wish pastors would do studies on vital Bible topics using the EGW CD Rom Disk to get the best concept before jumping into Scripture.  I wish they would use SOP to find everything it says on the Investigative Judgment.    A person is aquitted and shown mercy, or zip - no in between.  Either the Spirit sent by Christ is in you ......or it's over.

Galcier view has almost removed the concept of Heaven to win and Hell to shun, almost convinced us once save always saved, is valid, despite that Ezekiel ch 28 & 33 specifically say otherwise, and glacier view rejected SOP outright.

"I have not been able to sleep past half-past four a.m. It has been impressed upon my mind that if we realized in a deeper sense the love of God for sinners, much more would be done in the name of Christ to seek and to save that which is lost. The parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, the prodigal son, bring out in distinct lines God's pitying love for those who are erring and straying from Him. Although [following] their own course of action in turning away from God, He does not leave them in their misery. The Lord is full of lovingkindness and tender, pitying love to all who are exposed to the temptations of the artful foe.  {11MR 367.1}

     How few bear in mind that the tempter was once a covering cherub, a being whom God created for His own name's glory. Satan fell from his high position through self-exaltation; he misused the high capabilities with which God had so richly endowed him. He fell for the same reason that thousands are falling today, because of an ambition to be first, an unwillingness to be under restraint. The Lord would teach man the lesson that, though united in church capacity, he is not saved until the seal of God is placed upon him, and he is made complete in Christ.  {11MR 367.2}

.......................................

" The Lord will not leave his afflicted, tried children to be the sport of Satan's temptations. It is our privilege to trust in Jesus. The heavens are full of rich blessings, and it is our privilege to have the joy of Christ in us that our joy may be full. We have not because we ask not, or because we do not pray in faith, believing that we shall be blessed with the special influence of the Holy Spirit. To the true seeker through the mediation of Christ the gracious influences of the Holy Spirit are imparted in order that the receiver may impart a knowledge of saving truth. Why do we not believe the plain "Thus saith the Lord"? Do not cease to pray under any circumstances. The spirit may be willing but the flesh may be weak, but Jesus knows all about that. In your weakness you are not to be anxious; for anxiety means doubt and distrust. You are simply to believe that Christ is able to save unto the uttermost all who come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for us. What does intercession comprehend?--It is the golden chain which binds finite man to the throne of the infinite God. The human agent whom Christ has died to save importunes the throne of God, and his petition is taken up by Jesus, who has purchased him with his own blood. Our great High Priest places his righteousness on the side of the sincere suppliant, and the prayer of Christ blends with that of the human petitioner. Christ has urged that his people pray without ceasing. This does not mean that we should always be upon our knees, but that prayer is to be as the breath of the soul. Our silent requests, wherever we may be, are to be ascending unto God, and Jesus, our Advocate, pleads in our behalf, bearing up with the incense of his righteousness our requests to the Father. The Lord Jesus loves his people, and when they put their trust in him, depending wholly upon him, he strengthens them. He will live through them, giving them the inspiration of his sanctifying Spirit, imparting to the soul a vital transfusion of himself. He acts through their faculties, and causes them to choose his will and to act out his character. With the apostle Paul they then may say. "I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." Christ impresses upon the mind of believers the fact that they are to have the glory which the Father has given him, in order that all who love and serve him may be one with God. "For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. . . . And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory [character], which thou hast given me; for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world."  {SSW, February 1, 1896 par. 3}

John 17:26  And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
