Daniel, chapter 12
[actually verses 1-4 of this chapter should be the culmination of ch. 11 and then ch. 12 begins with the last vision of Daniel] [Notice that this chapter is so different from the other chapters of Daniel. Chapters 10-12 are not filled with the symbolism of animals as the other chapters. It is void of the beasts and animals that are represented in Revelation and most of Daniel]

1: And at that time shall Michael [Jesus]stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble,[Jacobs trouble] such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

2: And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

[this is the 1st resurrection and the 2nd resurrection] Rev. 20: 4: And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5: But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6: Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Rev. 20: 12: And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13: And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14: And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15: And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

[notice that the rest of the dead did not live until the second resurrection. No one dies 3 times anywhere in the bible record scripture says Hebrews 9"27": And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:]

Jude 14: And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15: To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16: These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. [notice that Jesus comes with his SAINTS to EXECUTE judgment upon ALL the ungodly this is after the 1,000 years]

3: And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

[The understanding of verse 3 can apply to all end time events before probation closes but specifically I believe it will be during the small time of TROUBLE. And, the latter rain pouring out during the Loud Cry before probation closes for the world. ]

Daniel is today standing in his lot, and we are to give him place to speak to the people. Our message is to go forth as a lamp that burneth. "At that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever." {AUCR, March 11, 1907 par. 10}

These words present the work that we are to do in these last days. We are not one-half awake. We have not the power that is essential to the doing of the work that must be done. We must come into life, come into union. Now, just now, we must stand in that position where repentance and pardon shall be the striking features of our work. There must be no quarrelling. It is too late to engage with Satan in his work of blinding eyes. It is too late to give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. {AUCR, March 11, 1907 par. 11}

I am instructed to say that when the Holy Spirit gives tongue and utterance, we shall see a work done similar to that done on the day of Pentecost. The representatives of Christ will work intelligently. There will not be found one man here and another there seeking to tear down and destroy. {AUCR, March 11, 1907 par. 12}

"Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord's anger come upon you, seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought His judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord's anger."
All around is changing. Cities and nations are being measured by the plummet in the hand of God. He never makes a mistake. He reads correctly. Everything earthly is unsettled, but the truth abides forever. In the eyes of the world, those who serve God may appear weak. They may be apparently sinking beneath the billows, but with the next billow they are seen rising nearer to their haven. I give unto them eternal life, saith our Lord, and none shall be able to pluck them out of my hand. Though kings shall be cast down, and nations removed, the souls that through faith link themselves with God's purposes shall abide forever. "They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever." {BTS, February 1, 1915 par. 3}

4: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

[to and fro does not always mean just running around consider Amos 8"12": And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. & Ephesians 4"14": That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;]

5: Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

[Daniel sees two other beings.... one near him on the bank of the river and the other on the far side on the edge of the river.]

6: And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

(notice that the one is in italics and should not be there it is Daniel speaking here and asking the question so it should read, And, I (Daniel) said to the man I think the question here is who is the man clothes in linen?)

Dan. 10: 5": Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: "6": His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

Rev. 1: "14": His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; "15": And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Rev 2"18": And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
-------------------
7: And I heard the man clothed in linen,[Jesus] which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Rev. 4: "10": The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

Rev. 5: "14": And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Rev. 10: "6": And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: [this is a critical statement]

[repeated here again for clarity, focus on the bolded part] 7: And I heard the man clothed in linen,[Jesus] which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

time = 1 Jewish year or 360 days times= 2 Jewish years 720 days and half = ½ a Jewish year or 180 days the total 1260 days.

Rev. 11: 2: But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 3: And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Rev. 11: 7: And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

Rev. 12: [note that the first reference to this time and similar was in verse 6 and now for the remnant it is repeated in verse 14] 14: And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 17: And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev. 13: 3: And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 5: And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

[repeated again for clarity.. focus on the bolded part ] 7: And I heard the man clothed in linen,[Jesus] which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

[Naphats is the Hebrew word for scatter which means he will disperse the power poured out all over the world for people to witness.]

Matt. 24: 13: But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Joel 2: 23: Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

[note here that the former and latter rain will fall in a very short time span and not like the usual 6 months apart]

Acts 2: 17: And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

SOP:
The Lord is sending His angels, preparing the hearts of the people to receive the truth. And if we are only consecrated to His service, we shall be sent forth in the spirit and power of Elijah. {5MR 72.2}

But there will come a time when there will be a great scattering--a scattering that we do not now dream of--and it will be brought about in unexpected ways. Some of you will be taken away to remote regions, but God will have a work for you there. {5MR 72.3}

Wonderful [wonders] events are soon to open before the world. The end of all things is at hand. The time of trouble is about to come upon the people of God. Then it is that the decree will go forth forbidding those who keep the Sabbath of the Lord to buy or sell, and threatening them with punishment, and even death, if they do not observe the first day of the week as the Sabbath. {RH, November 19, 1908 par. 12}

8: And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

[Once again, the I here is Daniel. He heard the answer to his question and he did not understand. This is similar to when Daniel heard the time prophecy in Daniel 7 and did not understand until Gabriel explained it to him in Daniel 8. Back THEN Daniel understood the 1260. [Daniel 10: 1] He understood the time period and he understood the vision. But this time he hears the same time, times, and a half of time [1260] and he does not understand. That's because the time frame is different. It was explained in Dan. 12:4 that this would be understood in the time of the end. So, Daniel asks the question a 2nd time... What shall be the end of these things? [wonders] ]

9: And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

[once again we are reminded that the last chapters of the book of Daniel are sealed until the time of the end which BEGINS with 1798. Where verse 4 says that many will run to and fro and knowledge will be increased.]

10: Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

[no one was purified and made white in 1844 and this is a key point. If in fact Jesus had come then, yes, it would have happened but it did not.
..none of the wicked shall understand..this is a key point because it shows that probation has already closed .]

Rev. 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
.the wise will understand.

Daniel 2"21": And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

11: And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

It bears repeating that Rev. 12:6 is the 1260 that starts in 538 up to 1798 the time of the end. The second 1260 is in Rev. 12:14 that concerns the remnant in v. 17. Rev. 13: 3 shows us that the little horn is healed and in verse 5 will be 42 months that is the same time period of 1260. During this time Gods people will be tried for their faith and tested on the Sabbath issue for 3 ½ years. At this time they will not be able to buy or sell if they keep the Sabbath holy. This is the time of the Loud Cry and the Latter Rain being poured out spoken of in Rev. 11 1-6. [once again 42 months and 1260 mentioned again back to back for emphasis]

Note that sacrifice was added and should not be there so what we are discussing is the daily. This is the starting point for all 3 time periods in Daniel 12. Let us understand that the daily is something good but it is taken away. It is freedom to worship on the 7th day and if I am denied that, then it is taken away. Or better yet, all things that represent true worship of God are taken away. So what we have left is all forms of worship that are pagan. Simultaneously, when all true worship of God is taken away, something evil or bad is set up. A law signed and a penalty attached dictating false worship will be set in place. Daniel 7: 24-27 clearly explain this point. This is the Sunday Law. This marks the beginning of Jacobs LITTLE TIME of trouble.

This period swells to the Loud Cry and then probation closes for the world. At this time Michael stands up as in Daniel 12:1.

Daniel then states that the followers of Gods commandments will be going through, a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time (12:1) As in the days of Mordecai and Esther, ..let a decree be written that they be destroyed (Esther 3:9) a death decree will be passed upon all those who do not worship the beast.

This death decree, which is part of the abomination of desolation, will come at the end of the 1290 days.

12: Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

In faith, the righteous will wait 45 days which brings them to the end of the 1335 days.

High lighted in bold in verses 11 and 12 are days. These days are different from the prophetic days of Daniel. These are literal days. The Hebrew word is yowm for verses 11 and 12. It was used in other parts of Daniel when referring to literal days like when Daniel and his friends were eating vegetables for 10 days the word used was yowm. In other places in Daniel the word is used as well to denote literal days. But in prophetic times of Daniel in all other places in Daniel different Hebrew words are used but NOT yowm. But here in Daniel 12 yowm is used in verses 11 and 12 denoting that these were literal days.

Rev. 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

Rev. 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

13: But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

Daniel is today standing in his lot, and we are to give him place to speak to the people. Our message is to go forth as a lamp that burneth. "At that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever." {AUCR, March 11, 1907 par. 10}

Prophetic time and SOP.
This time, which the angel declares with a solemn oath, is not the end of this world's history, neither of probationary time, but of prophetic time , which should precede the advent of our Lord. That is, the people will not have another message upon definite time. After this period of time, reaching from 1842 to 1844, there can be no definite tracing of the prophetic time . The longest reckoning reaches to the autumn of 1844. {19MR 320.4}

Jesus did not come to earth as the waiting, joyful company expected, to cleanse the Sanctuary, by purifying the earth by fire. I saw that they were correct in their reckoning of the prophetic periods. Prophetic time closed in 1844. Their mistake consisted in not understanding what the Sanctuary was, and the nature of its cleansing. Jesus did enter the Most Holy place to cleanse the Sanctuary at the ending of the days. I looked again at the waiting, disappointed company. They looked sad. They carefully examined the evidences of their faith, and followed down through the reckoning of the prophetic periods, and could discover no mistake. Time was fulfilled, but where was their Saviour? They had lost him. {1SG 148.1}

[here clearly she says that prophetic time has closed and this means that the applying the day for a year is over. But, even though prophetic time has closed, she says that it is NOT the end of world history and it is not the end of probationary time.]

[For those of you who hold the Clovis view and apply 508 as a starting point for 1260, 1290 and 1335 there are serious problems. First, Clovis, if he is so important is not even mentioned in SOP. Dont you think that this important end of time event would be mentioned? Second, this view holds that this final prophecy doesnt go beyond the time of the end in verse 12:4 or in other words 1798. Thirdly, if you use 508 as a starting point, the close of probation ends after 1260 years that would be 1768. What happened in 1768? This would be the close of probation for the world. Fourth, applying this further with the 1335 you would end in 1843 and Jesus comes. Well, it didnt happen. And, nothing happened in 1843. ]

In November 1850, she reproved a brother at a meeting in Maine:
"We told him of some of his errors in the past, that the 1335 days were ended and numerous errors of his.... The presence of God filled the place. Brother Hewit dropped upon his knees and began to cry and pray.... He confessed it was of God and was humbled in the dust. I was taken off in vision...He has been writing ever since that meeting, and is now writing from the same table renouncing all his errors that he has advanced." Letter 28, 1850. {16MR 208.4}

After these seven thunders uttered their voices, the instruction comes to John as to Daniel in regard to the little book: "Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered." These relate to future events which will be disclosed in their order. Daniel shall stand in his lot at the end of the days. John sees the little book unsealed. Then Daniel's prophecies have their proper place in the first, second, and third angels' messages to be given to the world. The unsealing of the little book was the message in relation to time. {19MR 320.1}

The special light given to John which was expressed in the seven thunders was a delineation of events which would transpire under the first and second angels' messages. It was not best for the people to know these things, for their faith must necessarily be tested. In the order of God most wonderful and advanced truths would be proclaimed. The first and second angels' messages were to be proclaimed, but no further light was to be revealed before these messages had done their specific work. This is represented by the Angel standing with one foot on the sea, proclaiming with a most solemn oath that time should be no longer. {19MR 320.3}
