Inspired by God means?

After much reading, I have come to the conclusion that prophets inspired by God meant that the words they wrote were the words that God intended them to write.   These words are not how God thinks but how He must use words at a level that we will understand in our fallen condition.  I now believe that all true prophets have been given inspiration from the Father, to the Son, via the Holy Spirit, and to angels that tell man what to write.

This is not a popular view but I now have the proof to back it up if anyone is interested.  I had previously thought that there was a combination of thought and words of the prophet put into writing.  Now, I understand for complete consistancy in the Bible and SOP must be dictated to man by God.

Praise God!  This is a breath of fresh air on this forum, and is one of the reasons that i set this forum up.  YES!  Please give us the proof of how God gives his words to us humans.

The Greek word for "inspiration" is "Theopneustos"  It means "divinely breathed in"  The Holy Spirit of God spoke by the mouth of the prophets and apostles and put God's word into thier mouths.                                           (I supplied the bold type.)

Matt. 4:4 "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

2 Peter 1:21 "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

Numbers 22:38 "And Balaam said unto Balak, Lo, I am come unto thee:  have I now any power at all to say any thing? the word that God putteth in my mouth, that shall I speak."

Numbers 23:5,12,16 "And the Lord put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak...And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the Lord hath put in my mouth?...  And the Lord met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus."

This is a starter.  I have more proof if you need it or want it.

It's kinda funny isn't it that I have posted many proofs to this fact on another site.  I have found words like this:

put words in my mouth

touched my mouth

dictated (2 references)

dictation (3 references)

spake & diminish not a word

word God put in my mouth (2 references)

out of my lips

word in my tongue

I used 5 SOP references and 12 Bible KJV references and still they dispute the evidence.  Why is this?  What more does one have to do to convince SDAs the truth????  Why do people not believe clear Bible evidence and SOP that are in complete harmony????

Unfortunately I have found out why so many SDAs disagree on some key issues.
As I have gone back and read the originals reprinted and photocopied by EGW it is very clear.  The original writings are different from the ones that are copywrited after the death of James White.  James protected her writings from others.  After he died, a team of 5 decided to start re-editing her books.  They removed valuable information and added their own words to hers.
So, in many of the later popular books, they have error mingled with truth.  SDAs disagree on points of doctrine and others because of this discrepency.  If you go back to the originals the writing is clear and agrees with the Bible 100%.  This website has so wonderfully placed some of these originals on line for free downloads.  I might also recommend Spiritual Gifts vol. 1-4, Story of Redemption (which is based on her early originals), Spalding & Magan Collection, Sketches from the Life of Paul, How to Live, and Appeal to Youth.   I'm still researching and reading.  I will post more as I read them.
This is so sad that this thing has happened.  Please be grateful that we still have some of the original words that she penned for us to know the truth.  May God be with you in your investigations into truth.

Yes, newbie, the truth is so abundantly clear that the prophets speak the words of God.  But the modern "enlightened" mind wishes to believe that the prophets are no better than ourselves, and that we can say and write things just as, or more important than what they said and wrote.

This is one area (i can think of 2 more), where conservative SDAs and liberal SDAs can all agree.  And it is very sad.  How can we stand in the time of trouble when brought before courts of law, and instead of a "The Lord says....", we say "Well, the Bible, which has some small, unimportant mistakes in it, says....".

It is true that our current SDA teaching on this issue of inspiration comes largely as a result of the many varied things you can find written in books with the name "Ellen White" on the cover.

Most of what you wrote at the bottom of your post about the books is right on, but not all.  Would you care to start a new thread regarding the books?

I'm concerned that there are now so many translations of the bible out there on the market that our KJV is being obscured?  Isn't anyone else concerned?  If it has been protected and now people are changing words to make it "clearer" I'm sure that there is some bias there as will be reflected in the words that they supply to fit their own beliefs.
