Catholics form the largest bloc in new US congress

Jan. 5, 2007 (CWNews.com) - Catholics form the largest religious group in the new US Congress, the Reuters news service has reported.

After the new members of Congress were sworn in on January 4, Reuters provided an analysis of the lawmakers’ religious affiliations.

Roman Catholics form by far the largest group: nearly double the size of the second-largest religious contingent, the Baptists. In addition to various Protestant groups, the new Congress includes 15 Mormons, Adventists, 2 Buddhists, and the first Muslim ever to serve in the US House of Representatives.

The results of a survey by Americans for Religious Liberty showed that largest religious blocs in Congress were Catholics (with 155 members), Baptists (67), Methodists (61), Presbyterians (44), and Jews (43).

Spread the word

God Bless you all

Yes Jeff W.,

Everything is in place.  There will be some kind of disaster and then the Sunday Law will follow quickly.

As webmaster said earlier:  Jesus is coming soon, be ready.

come out of the sunday churches

                                        keep the Sabbath Day holy

I think what we must do now is to keep our eyes on Jesus and overcome the sin in our lives.  Time is short and we need to hurry and get the word out and keep ourselves clean.  We can overcome and Jesus said it, so it must be possible.     Let nothing else distract you from the will of God.

Might it be significant that the Supreme Court also is tipping on the Catholic side?

Let's see....the other part of our government is the Senate, anyone know what's going on there?

Think about the up and coming elections....   the religious voice is getting stronger and stronger and candidates are paying attention.  I am afraid to back anyone for fear they will be the ones to put in the Sunday Law tacked on to something else and pass it through.
