Abominations in the Seventh-day Adventist Church

Last week I read a news report that some woman pastor in the SDA Church in California baptized a lesbian into the SDA church there.

This is abomination.

And then this morning, I read that in America, fully 4.1% of the population says that they are LGBTQ.

Unsurprisingly, the highest was in Washington D.C., where fully 8.3% of the population said so!

We need to repent as a nation, and as a church, because God has already given us strong evidence in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah what he thinks of this image-of-god-degrading-sin.

This brings to mind an interesting issue -- is it possible for the church to become part of Babylon?

Many people would say "no", and often cite multiple statements in the early chapters of Testimonies to Ministers.

But if we go deeper into the matter, it appears that such a thing is possible, if the abominable practices of the world are brought into the church and ultimately accepted.

The first quote below mentions becoming a "sister to fallen Babylon", and both use the Revelation 18:2 language about becoming a "cage of every unclean and hateful bird", which is a reference to Babylon.

We must as a people arouse and cleanse the camp of Israel. Licentiousness, unlawful intimacy, and unholy practices are coming in among us in a large degree; and ministers who are handling sacred things are guilty of sin in this respect. They are coveting their neighbors' wives, and the seventh commandment is broken. We are in danger of becoming a sister to fallen Babylon, of allowing our churches to become corrupted, and filled with every foul spirit, a cage for every unclean and hateful bird; and will we be clear unless we make decided movements to cure the existing evil?  {21MR 380.1}

It is the work of the Christian to mend, to restore, to heal. This healing process saves many a soul and hides a multitude of sins. God is love; God is, in Himself, in His essence, love. He makes the very best of what appears an injury, and gives Satan no occasion for triumph by making the worst appear and exposing our weakness to our enemies. The world must not be introduced into the church, and married to the church, forming a bond of unity. Through this means the church will become indeed corrupt, and as stated in Revelation, "a cage of every unclean and hateful bird."  {TM 265.1}

This is a GYC presentation of 6 MP3 sermons by SDA Pastor David Shinn

https://www.audioverse.org/english/sermons/seriess/1194/sanctuary-under-siege.html

Once the Sanctuary and hermeneutics are Biblically understood from Scripture, without evangelical admixture of views into Adventism, even SOP falls into place for new SDA's .        Also seeing the ending of wickedness and abominations through the Sanctuary Service might awaken a few to get back on solid ground.   Not all, but a few, and it would armour new believers and show that these sins are not the SDA message.

Yes, the Sanctuary, properly understood, would definitely refuse admittance into the SDA Church of these abominations.

Let:s be even more direct - If we SDAs believed in keeping the Commandments, Statutes, and Judgments, these types of abominations that are not clearly spelled out in the 10 Commandments would be seen to be against God:s will, and would never be allowed in the Church.

Why are we so adamant in not wanting to keep God:s Statutes?
