What is the purpose of your life as a Seventh-day Adventist Christian?

To give glory to God.

As for details, I try to live simply, using all extra funds to help spread the original Great Controversy book in various languages, and also to help the brethren in various countries in their various needs and trials of life.

I use the internet quite a bit to make comments trying to lift up church members, and in discussing things with people on youtube especially - like how we should protect developing humans: lives, and how Evolution leads away from God.

As for my day-to-day activities, I feel like I:m not living up to what God wants me to do, as I should aim higher, and should not allow myself to get bogged down in normal, worldly type things.

How about your life, Shireen?

I often think about this question in the context of how we as humans can vindicate the divine character and government.

Below are four quotes.  The first two illustrate this idea in the life of Job, and the other two are additional SOP quotes on the subject.

   And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. (Job 42:7)

    According to his faith, so was it unto Job. "When He hath tried me," he said, "I shall come forth as gold." Job 23:10. So it came to pass. By his patient endurance he vindicated his own character, and thus the character of Him whose representative he was. And "the Lord turned the captivity of Job: ... also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before ... So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning." Job 42:10-12.  {Ed 156.1}

     The Lord has sent to our world a message of warning, even the Third Angel's Message. All heaven is waiting to hear us vindicate God's law, declaring it to be holy, just, and good. Where are those who will do this work? God calls upon His people to gain a deeper insight into His plans and His law. His law is the transcript of His character. It is unchangeable; for God will not alter the thing that has gone out of His lips. Christ has declared that the law is perfect; and with David we may say, "It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law."  {RH, April 16, 1901 par. 16}

    Why were they [the 144,000] so specially singled out? Because they had to stand with a wonderful truth right before the whole world, and receive their opposition, and while receiving this opposition they were to remember that they were sons and daughters of God, that they must have Christ formed within them the hope of glory. They were ever keeping in view the great and blessed hope that is before them. What is it? It is an eternal weight of glory. Nothing could surpass it.  {1SAT 72.3}

Thank you everyone for sharing.

The foundation of my life is my relationship with God. Managing my time/life is important because I want to be used by God to finish His work. As webmaster expressed it is a struggle.

I am in a stage of transition (moving from one country to another), therefore I don't want to comment on the specifics of my life. However, I look forward to be settled and seeing how God uses me. My husband and I are currently contemplating working with youth.

I think the following quotes are helpful, regarding mission/purpose as well as standards.

God bless as you live for Him.

"The church is God's appointed agency for the salvation of men. It was organized for service, and its mission is to carry the gospel to the world. From the beginning it has been God's plan that through His church shall be reflected to the world His fullness and His sufficiency. The members of the church, those whom He has called out of darkness into His marvellous light, are to show forth His glory. The church is the repository of the riches of the grace of Christ; and through the church will eventually be made manifest, even to "the principalities and powers in heavenly places," the final and full display of the love of God.  Ephesians 3:10.  {AA 9.1}

"Were men free to depart from the Lord's requirements and to set up a standard of duty for themselves, there would be a variety of standards to suit different minds and the government would be taken out of the Lord's hands. The will of man would be made supreme, and the high and holy will of God-- His purpose of love toward His creatures--would be dishonored, disrespected." - Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, p. 51.
